The name is dumb IMO, but the search engine's concept is pretty cool.

Put your bookmarks online so you can grab them from anywhere and import them to any of the big 4 browsers.  Don't have to worry about backing them up or losing them when you do a HD wipe.

Tech Yahoo Widgets Alarm Clock 1 stars 2 stars 3 stars 4 stars 5 stars 6/26/2010 4:58:32 AM
This nice little piece of software comes with a digital clock that has an alarm clock that you can set for whatever time you'd like.  This is pretty nice to have if you work with headphones on or if you can't (or don't want to) set an external alarm clock.  It has a bunch of other widgets that come pre-installed, but you can delete the ones you don't want.

Nice little excerpt from a book discussing HTML 5.  Much of it is probably already known by those that do web dev, but it's still definitely worth reading.

Tech Changing your password every month isn't worth it in the long run. 1 stars 2 stars 3 stars 4 stars 5 stars 4/13/2010 1:07:52 PM
Economists sat down and looked at all the time spent resetting passwords, forcing people to update passwords and on and on; then compared it to how much the security breaches actually cost and in most cases it is either a wash or costs more for the features than you actually lose without them.

Kinda sad when you look at it.

Worlde allows you to paste in text or an RSS feed and it then creates a word cloud using the text provided. Not really sure how useful word clouds are but it is neat anyway. This is REOIV.com's word cloud at the time I submitted this link.

Tech Microsoft Security Essentials 1 stars 2 stars 3 stars 4 stars 5 stars 2/25/2010 12:51:27 PM
I saw this from the link Shodin posted. Basically it is Microsoft's free anti-virus program for those of you running non pirate versions of Windows.

I have it installed at home and so far so good. Though I still say a decent firewall and regular patches for your software is the best bet vs any anti-virus.

This is one of the best free defrag programs I've come across.  There's a setting to do a system scan upon boot.  I turned that on and let it run a couple of times and my computer runs a LOT faster and smoother now - especially in WoW.

Windows 7 will be here Oct 22, but from what I've read it's really little more than Vista w/some bug fixes and a fresh coat of paint.  This is one of the better articles I've read about migration from XP to 7.

Not sure if I like it or not yet, but it has the potential to be pretty damn cool.
